Check out this San Francisco Examiner article about the transformation of César Chavez Street from a deadly near-freeway to neighborhood arterial. Many remember how foreboding and dangerous the street was, but younger people and new residents may be interested in learning more about how grassroots advocates lobbied the City to make much-needed changes to the street.
